Changing

Yes, I plan to keep on using gerunds as entry titles until I run out. Then I will have to use action verbs.

So, the Weekend of Two Weddings is over, and I am still recovering. Saturday all the non-marrying Animal Shelter alumni--Pete, Derrick and Sandra, Ed, Jason (minus the wife and daughter) and I--got together for brunch before collecting Marianne and heading over to Kiljoong and Heather's wedding. There was Benadryl-induced stupor, there was inappropriate giggling in the church, there were bubbles. Good times. The reception was too short, but we got in a bit of dancing following the drinking and eating. Then we came back here and hung out a bit until everyone turned into pumpkins. Pete stayed over, and he and I met up with Jason and Ed at the day after brunch thingy. It was great to see all the guys again, and as Ed said, I don't think I've laughed that much in a long time. Seven years is too long to get us all in the same place--hopefully we can work something out again soon.

After the brunch I hopped in the car and headed for Madison. Thanks to traffic I was running late for the 6:00 arrival, so I had to change into my suit at seventy miles per hour. No one was killed, but I got some funny looks. I finally met Jesse, who was very nice. Chris Miller was nervous, but loosened up after the vows and a few drinks. I saw John and Deanna, Good Doug and Evil Doug, Mike, Colleen, and Evil Doug's roommate John and his date Melissa. We had the dance floor more or less to ourselves. Personal fave numbers were probably "I Wanna Be Sedated" and "Lovecats." I hope there aren't any videos of me moving, though.

Finally got back here about 2:00 AM, and four hours later I was trying desperately to sleep through my alarm. Still groggy, exhausted, but happy. I don't see any of the people I saw this weekend near often enough, and sadly I don't know when that's going to change.
