Shut Up and Write

This is what I've been doing lately, plowing through the revisions of Superpowers, doing mucho research for a couple of new short stories and gearing up for final revisions on a couple of older ones. So, yeah, not lots of new content here lately, and that may be the case for a while yet. And yet, as Ben Peek notes, folks are still busily writing manifestoes and wondering aloud what's wrong with the genre. Apparently it's either too boring or too girly or too lazy or not rigorous enough.

Fuck that noise.

The genre is more vital and exciting than it's been in my lifetime, and if you're not finding good stuff to read you're not looking hard enough. If people aren't writing enough of your favorite sort of fiction, then take Mr. Peek's advice; quit whining about it and write it your own damn self.
