Elephant Link & A Hiatus

I have too many things to do. I made a list, so that was good. It's a long list. I could use an aspirin.

One bit of news: Elephant Orphanage! It's going to be on "60 Minutes" this Sunday, apparently.

That'll likely be it from me for a while, thanks to the list above. I'll update if I have any big news, and I'll be posting appreciations to the Project as I receive them. (HINT. HINT.) I'll be around in the blogosphere, too, I'm sure. But with this last push for school coming up I'm pretty much unable to muster up content right now. I'll be back around May 7th or so; take care until then.

I’m goin’ down in it three times, but lord I’m only comin up twice.

Am very cranky today. Hence I am borrowing a page from Ms. Bowen and asking you tell me something good.

Get to it.

In the End I Was the Mean Girl, Or Somebody's In-Between Girl

Things To Do On a Rainy Day (Not just rainy, but nasty windy, too; it's umbrella-killing weather out there. My poor umbrella.)

1. Read Gwenda's article at Publisher's Weekly! She talks to Kevin Brockmeier, and lots of editors, and some guy named Gavin.

2. Buy me this book.

3. Fall out a window.

4. Be less sad.

5. Laugh until you cry.

6. Panic over the threat of delinquent schoolgirls.

7. Celebrate Cheese Weasel Day. (You could even have your very own parade.)

8. Get creeped out by men of god.

9. Read about some French giants.

10. Listen to some Neko Case. (You could even watch the video for "Maybe Sparrow.") How was the show? Neko, backed by Kelly Hogan, with Jon Rauhouse on steel guitar/banjo/mysterious feedback . . . bliss.
